I could bore you with all kinds of technical jargon about the Society and feed you the links to various websites, but this is a blog. Not an intra-office invoice.
Basically, we’re pretty attached to the 1st Amendment, as most journalists are. We’re also excellent and ethical, as both humans and members of the press. We want you to be a journalist- so long as you’re just as excellent and Amendment-loving as we are.
Our chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists is based out of Columbia College Chicago, a lovely set of buildings scattered across Chicago’s South Loop. Millennium Park? Yeah, that’s our backyard. The urban atmosphere aids our artistic creativity and gives us journalists tons to write about.
We love headlines here at the Society, which is why we partner with Chicago’s Headline Club. Even more than headlines, we love scholarships and jobs, both of which the Club provides. Check it out. We can’t make it too easy for you.
If you’re like me (AKA a huge nerd), you can follow the links for more information.
Hey, you’re a journalist. You’re supposed to be informed.
